Unbelievably, almost a year has passed since Scott Hutchison (Scottish singer, songwriter, artist) died of suicide.
Last year I felt compelled to do something to help raise awareness and funding for the Scottish Association for Mental Health, I donated a percentage of all sales throughout May and I wrote about my own experience of mental health issues (you can still read that here). Whilst I haven't dealt with anything as extreme as many others, I was blown away by the messages I received from people who appreciated me being open, and in turn I know it's helped a few people open up about their own issues. As I mention in that blog post, talking about what's going on in your heid often relieves a whole load of pain and makes you realise you're not alone.
I wanted to do something again this year; to honour Scott, to donate to SAMH, to normalise talking about mental health and to make tiny changes.
I've released three new designs which are specifically for you to reach out to someone who is struggling or going through a rough patch, even if you haven't seen them in ages. Aye, you could just text them. But think of the proper feel-good factor of receiving actual happy post, put pen to paper and let them know that you are here for them.
It could make all the difference.

Great blog Niki. Such an important topic that you are raising awareness for, while helping others feel normal about their feelings and experiences.
Thank you for being so kind and donating some of your hard earned £ to SMHA. Mental Health needs to be brought out in the open…so so many families are affected by this terrible illness…my own included.
